Responsibility
You’ll be responsible for coordinating fusion groups with distribution area experts and IT to identify data requirements before creating clear specifications ensuring data is accurate, true and can be created in the data warehouse. Reporting on progress of new data point builds through the lifecycle of creation within IT, raising risks or issues to the Distribution data governance forum. Be responsible for the efficient creation of identified data points and KPI measures in a timely manner, ensuring data is available in the relevant data warehouse, to the established standards for ETL for users to access. Utilise Power BI to design, develop, and implement visually appealing and interactive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations based on diverse data sources.
You’ll also be involved in root cause analysis of data and reporting issues, clearly identifying points of failure, providing recommendations for resolution and ensuring proactive changes are made to prevent recurrence. Also responsible for continued CPD and PDP of self in areas of data analysis, data and system integration and data communication, applying industry best practice and leading by example. Supporting in the PDP of others in relation to data, system integration, data communications and data analysis.
The Role
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Support and host discussions within a multidisciplinary teams, with potentially difficult dynamics. Be an advocate for the teams externally, and can manage differing perspectives and align to the needs of the end user and can create visuals and presentations to communicate data outputs.
- Undertake data profiling and source system analysis. Can present clear insights to colleagues to support the end use of the data.
- Explain the concepts and principles of data modelling. Can produce, maintain and update relevant data models for an organisation’s specific needs. Can reverse-engineer data models from a live system.
- Develop data standards for a specific component. Can analyse where data standards have been applied or breached, and undertake an impact analysis of that breach.
- Ability to work with metadata repositories to complete complex tasks such as data and systems integration impact analysis. You can maintain a repository to ensure information remains accurate and up to date.
- Initiate and monitor actions to investigate patterns and trends to resolve problems. Can effectively consult specialists where required. Can determine the appropriate remedy and assist with its implementation. Can determine preventative measures.
- Design data architecture by dealing with specific business problems and aligning it to enterprise-wide standards and principles. Can work within the context of well understood architecture, and identify appropriate patterns.
