The Data & Analytics team will empower Unilever’s journey to becoming an Intelligent Enterprise – powering key decisions with data, insights, advanced analytics and AI. The in-market UKI Data & Analytics team has clear accountabilities for all aspects of Data Strategy, Data Management, Information Management, Analytics, and Insights. We are accountable for the impact of solutions, maintaining market relevance and driving P&L, customer, and consumer value from analytics products. You will partner with the business transformation teams, Business Unit Leads, Customer Teams and Category Management among others to ensure we democratize information across the business, while supporting the culture shift required for data driven decision making. Further, you would work towards embedding predictive and prescriptive analytics capabilities into our highest potential opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to become a part of our team and work closely with our partners and stakeholders to deliver analytical capabilities and reporting solutions. The role of the Data Analyst is to deliver insights to cross-functional business teams by leveraging analytical techniques and reporting capabilities to create value for Unilever. The Data Analyst will have the expertise and skillset to improve the performance of existing reports by implementing optimised DAX patterns, to deliver faster analytics solutions to the business teams. The individual will take ownership of all aspects of data insights delivery from initial designs, through data modelling and the creation of visual reports and dashboards.  In addition, they will assume full responsibility for the following:

  • Understand business and technical requirements to document, develop and implement analytics solutions & products.
  • Work with the Data Engineering team to extract and deal with data from multiple data sources (e.g. financial systems, external data sources, Marketing databases, etc.)
  • Data Modelling design aligned to global and EU standards for optimisation.
  • Ingest, Clean, Transform and Model data following best practice and tools including SQL, M/Power Query, and DAX.
  • Creation and visualisation of PowerBI reports with a user-centred focus on usability.
  • Coding, testing, debugging and validation of deployed solutions using Microsoft Power BI technologies.
  • Publish Power BI solutions through pipeline and integration to dashboards and apps including ongoing maintenance.
  • Hands on delivery of solutions throughout the entire life cycle, including day-to-day management of ongoing engagements with the product leads.
  • Ensure that deliverables meet or exceed functional, technical and performance requirements for data solutions.

Professional skills and experience

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in STEM preferred.
  • Excellent engagement, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make the complex simple.
  • Relevant experience in:
    • Driving insights from large scale structured and unstructured data.
    • Data Mining, Exploratory data analysis, and modelling
    • Working with Power Pivot, Power Query and Power BI
    • Extracting and dealing with data from multiple data sources (e.g. financial systems, Marketing databases, etc.)
    • Optimizing DAX patterns for improved reporting and performance.

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money.In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
