We are recruiting for a new Data Analyst to be a key part of our Insight and Analytics team. This role will be a full time (37.5 hours per week) permanent role. At Mencap we give office-based colleagues and teams more flexibility about where the work is done. You are able to work from home or a nearby office but it is important that the successful candidate can be present in our London office quarterly for a team meeting and on other occasions when required.

The Insight and Analytics team is a small team that works on a variety of projects. We use data to make a positive impact to improve the lives of people with a learning disability and improve our organisation that supports people with a learning disability. We sit within the Data and Application team so have access to engineers, BI developers, product management, architecture and governance. You’ll work with the Insight & Analytics Lead on challenges submitted by stakeholders and identify new areas which would benefit from data analysis.

 

Essential key skills, experience & abilities required for this role:

  • Previous experience working in a Data Analyst role in a data team.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills. You can apply analytical techniques to present a solution.
  • High level of knowledge and experience in Python, SQL and data tools to profile, interrogate, prepare, and analyse data sets, and to synthesise findings and insight.
  • Agile/Kanban experience
  • Ability to approach a problem, applying logic and creativity.
  • Data visualisation. You can interpret requirements and present data in a clear and compelling way, using graphical representations and data visualisations.
  • Confident and effective communicator across all levels and understand how to share insights with stakeholders.
