The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Technical Data Analyst to join our Global Data & Analytics team. This is a global and home-based role.

To provide analytics and insights, deliver reporting and visualisation outputs and be a business partner as a data and reporting expert.

To deliver high standard reports, engaging with Data Owners and Data Stewards and being part of the Data Governance Committee as and when required. Reporting delivery will be for both internal and external customers, but the engagement will be internal colleagues/stakeholders only. This is a role within the global team.

The role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To enable the delivery of insights and analytics on internal performance for internal consumption or external reporting
  • To support and ensure a smooth transition across reporting platforms
  • To support with data migration, field mapping and report delivery
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within legacy reports and code as they are transitioned across platforms
  • Responsible for monitoring requests that come into the Global Data & Analytics team and ensure requirements are gathered and delivered to in accordance with the global delivery process
  • To be a technical point of contact as part of the Data & Analytics team to answer data and reporting related questions and queries.
  • Support monitoring of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, ensuring that the data is available, and all jobs have been successful
  • To support technical integrations with the Enterprise Data Warehouse
  • Deliver in line with best practice; ensure all requirements and specification documents are delivered for visualisation dashboards
  • Collaborate globally with operational teams to deliver demoes and training for all new developments
  • Identify reporting automation and efficiency opportunities and socialise/recommend accordingly
  • To support Data Governance Committee and Centre of Excellence.

About you – Knowledge & Experience

Essential:

  • Knowledge and experience of the Insurance Industry
  • To have a financial reporting background and a strong understanding of financial reporting requirements
  • Agile experience – JIRA or similar tools is an advantage but not essential
  • Power BI and/or other data visualisation tools experience
  • Must have great attention to detail
  • Analytical mindset
  • Business awareness and Industry understanding
  • Team player
  • Solutions focused but takes time to analyse and consider impacts, and uses
  • initiative to solve problems/challenges.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and prioritise.
  • Open to bring ideas and suggestions to support and enhance best practice
  • Power BI/Data Visualization/Storytelling through data
  • SQL
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Proficient in using Azure/Cloud/SAP/S4Hana/SAC
