UPSKILL THROUGH TEENS IN DATA

PRACTICAL DATA WORKSHOP

Teens in Data is a program designed for young adults between the ages of 16 -18 who are interested in exploring a career in data. Our goal is to excite, challenge and inspire them to explore the data industry and consider pursuing careers in this field.

The program consists of a set of workshops that introduce participants to data analytics, the tools and skills used in data roles. 

The aim is to raise awareness of the industry and facilitate entry into this growing field.

Our vision is to reach as many teenagers of Colour as possible and inspire them to explore the vast opportunities in the data industry.

Equally we wish to encourage them to embrace who they are and strive to reach their potential.

THE PROGRAMME

Session 1: A brief introduction to Data Analytics, the Team and provide an outline of the task/client brief

Session 2: Introduce the data tools and languages used to collect and query data followed by hands on experience using the tool e.g. BigQuery 

Session 3: Prepare a reporting datasets in BigQuery & introduce Data Studio and Data Storytelling

Session 4: Build a dashboard in DataStudio 

Session 5: Present final work to the team
